Bridge Over Troubled Waters (Bridge) is Boston's premier organization dedicated to transforming the lives of runaway, homeless, and high-risk youth through safe, supportive, and encouraging relationships and effective and innovative services that guide them toward self-sufficiency. Bridge began in 1970 with a small but energetic group of staff and volunteers, who offered free and confidential services to homeless young people on the streets of Boston. Of the young people who seek help at Bridge, 100 percent live at the poverty level. The Center for Child Protection works to reduce the trauma for children during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases. The Center is the first stop for children in Travis County who are suspected victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect and for children who have witnessed a violent crime. The Center is a child-friendly, specially-equipped facility where children go for recorded forensic interviews, medical exams, counseling and intervention during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases. All services are provided to children and their protective caregivers at no charge and most are available in English and Spanish.

Since opening our doors in 1988, Covenant House Alaska (CHA) has served thousands of homeless and runaway youth in Alaska. Through the years, we have expanded our services and adapted our programs to meet the changing needs of the community. However, our mission to serve the suffering children of the streets has remained the same. At CHA, our sole purpose is to be available to help youth in crisis 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Through our three main programs, we meet the basic needs of youth in crisis, while also providing them with the support to become healthy, self-sufficient, contributing members of our community.

Located in Flowery Branch, Georgia, Eagle Ranch is a community uniquely designed to help make life better for children and families going through a crisis. Since receiving our 501(c)(3) status in 1983 and accepting our first child in 1985, Eagle Ranch has steadily grown in its capacity to serve children. Today, we are able to provide a home for 66 children (42 boys and 24 girls) at one time.We use an integrated approach, built on Christian principles, that models home life, emphasizes education, and incorporates individual and group counseling. Boys and girls live on Eagle Ranch's peaceful 315-acre campus, giving them the space and time they need to work through their struggles.Our aim is for renewal: of the child's individual purpose and identity; of positive relationships among family members; and of hope for a more promising future for everyone we serve.
Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) helps those in our community whose immediate needs for food, shelter and other basic necessities cannot adequately be met by other means, and supports their efforts toward financial stability or self-sufficiency. Working in cooperation with other human service organizations, schools, congregations and local police departments, EFAA serves as the hub of a coordinated network of helpers. EFAA provides food, financial assistance programs, emergency and transitional housing programs. EFAA also reaches out directly to the community for help and support in their efforts through a variety of very successful volunteer and fund-raising programs.

Founded in 1998, the My Stuff Bags Foundation provides duffels of new belongings to children nationwide who must be rescued from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, and child trafficking. Traumatized by the events leading to their rescue, these children often arrive at crisis shelters and foster care with nothing of their own. Rescuing agencies rarely have the resources to provide something as essential as a toothbrush or as comforting as a teddy bear. We fill that gap with My Stuff Bags, individual duffels lovingly packed by volunteers with donated, new childhood essentials. My Stuff Bags address the immediate physical and emotional needs of these disadvantaged children, helping support the agencies caring for them.Each My Stuff Bag sends the message to a hurting child that their community and country surrounds them with love and support. To date, more than 630,000 children across the United States have received a My Stuff Bag.

Oasis is dedicated to assisting impoverished families who strive to achieve economic independence by providing educational programs to equip women and children with the skills they need to become self-sufficient. We provide a hand up, not a hand out by offering adult education classes for women and educational enrichment programs for at-risk youth in the community, completely free of charge. All programs are designed to help these families succeed in the workplace and in the public education system. In the short twelve years since opening our doors, Oasis has grown from a soup kitchen serving meals to women and children to a safe haven where women living in extreme poverty are welcomed with open arms and encouraged to advance their education with the goal of becoming self-sufficient.

Peace First teaches young people the critical skills of peacemaking - the social-emotional skills of cooperation, communication, conflict resolution, and empathy as well as the core tools for civic engagement - as a core part of their school day, alongside reading and math. The heart of our program is a Pre-K-8 curriculum integrated weekly into the academic frameworks of the school, taught by AmeriCorps members in partnership with the classroom teacher. In 2020, Thornwell served more than 2,300 children and families, operating from a belief in empowered communities in which all people can experience both life and love in abundance.
Voices for Children (VFC) transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). VFC is the single organization authorized by the court to provide volunteer CASAs to children in foster care in San Diego County and Riverside County. The CASA Program is a vital supplement to the San Diego and Riverside legal communities. Expertly trained by VFC, CASAs are matched with a single foster child or sibling group. CASAs interview all relevant stakeholders including teachers, social workers, and caregivers; monitor compliance with previous court orders; and research resources for their case children. By reviewing court, medical, academic, and family records, CASAs are able to identify areas of concern for the child. Regular visits allow advocates to identify unmet needs. CASAs present their observations to judges in the form of official Court Reports that inform judges' decisions about children's wellbeing.
The Wakeman Boys and Girls Club was founded on Christmas Day in 1913 with the mission to guide and inspire young people, especially those that need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. Wakeman Boys and Girls Club operates three clubhouses: Southport, Stratfield and Smillow-Burroughs and continues to help young people grow up to BE GREAT!

Founded in 1971, Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters (YBBBS) mission is to enhance the lives of children through quality mentoring relationships. Many children grow up without the time, attention and direction they need from caring adults. Screened volunteers act as friends, mentors and role models to school-aged children who are predominately from single-parent homes. These relationships are supported by a professional staff. Mentoring is the single most effective way to positively impact the life of a child. Research tells us that compared to all other youth their age, boys and girls matched with a Big Brother Big Sister or Family Match are 40% less likely to get arrested.
Youth Emergency Services (YES) was founded in 1977 to serve homeless and at-risk youth by providing critically needed resources which empower them to become self-sufficient. Basically, we help youth in crisis get back on their feet in whatever ways we can. After meeting their immediate needs for food, shelter, clothing and safety, we create a support system which helps them flourish. We envision a community which understands and embraces its youth, creating an environment where youth homelessness no longer exists.
Founded in 2004, the mission of the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) is to provide intensive case management, mentoring and educational services to at-risk New Orleans youth. We will strengthen each young person's capacity to successfully connect with his or her family and community and lay the foundation for a healthy transition to adulthood. Since its inception, YEP has earned local and statewide recognition for being at the cutting edge of progressive programs for at-risk youth. We started as the first-of-its-kind re-entry program for juvenile offenders in Louisiana and now we are the region's most comprehensive and established agency working with at-risk, court-involved and out-of-school youth.
Founded in 1998, Youth First, Inc. exists to strengthen and transform the lives of young people and families through Master's level social workers embedded in schools free of charge who deliver on-site behavioral mental health services and evidence-based programs that prevent substance abuse, improve relationships, and develop critical life skills. Youth First Social Workers become specialized mentors for students and prevention coaches for parents/caregivers and teachers. Now in 75 schools in Indiana and with 10 years of independently analyzed data, Youth First's specialized mentoring is decreasing the risk of addiction and other dangers in Indiana youth. This means increased employability, happiness and health for our future adults. Our organization has proven to be not only effective for youth but also sustainable through a blended stream of funding through state government, local schools, and private charitable donors, a balance of investment that holds steady over time.
